Welcome to Dirt & Roses, serving Austin, Bastrop, Elgin, and Central Texas.

***We are currently in the process of moving the nursery and dirt yard to Bastrop, Texas. The Hutto site is closed for business, but we do have a good inventory of roses, including David Austin Roses, at our new Bastrop site, located at 128 FM 1441, Bastrop, Texas. *** See us for all your landscape needs - sand, gravel, Dillo Dirt, mulch, decomposed granite, Rose Mix, and more. We also have in stock a large selection of ornamental iron, statuary, landscape plants and trees, including freeze-hardy palms suitable for the Central Texas climate. We offer a wide selection of roses, and have over 100 varieties on site, including:

David Austin English Roses – an entirely new breed of roses which blend the opulent, romantic beauty of Old Roses with the disease resistance and repeat flowering of Modern Roses. The end result is the most beautiful and fragrant class of roses now available on the market. We stock a wide variety of the best of the David Austin roses.

Antique Roses – In general, those rose classes in existence prior to the development of the Hybrid Tea rose in 1867 have become grouped under the general heading of “Antique”, or “Old Garden” roses. They include China, Noisette, Bourbon, Tea, and other classes which initially lost favor with rosarians in a rush to the Hybrid Tea, but which are now gaining in popularity as a result of their historic interest, color, fragrance, form and hardiness. We have on hand many varieties of Antique Roses, concentrating on those varieties which feature remontant (constant) blooming and good fragrance.

Modern Roses – We have on hand a select group of Modern Rose varieties which have exhibited the same characteristics that we look for in an Antique Rose, ie, (1) toughness, (2) good reblooming, (3) foliage, (4) fragrance, and (5) bloom beauty.

Earthkind Roses – Texas A&M has an ongoing testing program to identify those rose varieties which will do well in our Central Texas environment. Varieties which have been selected to receive the “Earthkind” designation include the very popular “Belinda’s Dream” and “Knockout” roses.
